Dr. Nicholas HardingDr. Nicholas Harding

Dr. Nicholas Harding, a New York native, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M and subsequently received his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center school of medicine. Dr. Harding did an internship in Greenville, S.C. Dr. Harding completed his Orthopedic residency as chief resident at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. This training was very intense training in Total Joint Arthroplasty, Geriatric and Pediatric Orthopedic surgery. These areas continue to be areas of special interest. Dr. Harding's Fellowship was in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. Dr. Harding has over 18 years' experience as an attending Orthopedic Surgeon, including; at a level one teaching trauma center, team doctor for Collage and High School teams, Orthopedic Department Chair and Chair at surgical center. Dr. Harding has published several papers and presented at national orthopedic meetings. He has been recognized as one of America's top Orthopedic Surgeons for over 7 years. Dr. Harding's focus is on complete Orthopedic care with special interests in total joint arthroplasty, geriatric care, pediatric orthopedics, diseases of the shoulder, arthroscopic surgery, fracture care and sports medicine.

On a more personal note, Dr. Harding met his wife, Jennifer, while living in New Your city. They are blessed with two lovely girls; Elizabeth Aine and Emily Jane. Free time is spent with the family activities and when time available gardening and wood working. Dr. Harding and his family make frequent day and weekend trips to enjoy the incredible culture and natural beauty of this part of the country.

Dr. Gregory TannerDr. Gregory Tanner

Dr. Gregory Tanner is a dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in comprehensive care of the shoulder as well as adult reconstruction of the hip and knee. He is new to Central Virginia Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine and excited to live in Fredericksburg. He has a special interest in delivering high quality, advanced care including anterior approach total hip arthroplasty and computer-assisted surgery. In addition, he is well versed in MAKO robotic surgery and revision of the hip and knee.

Dr. Tanner is originally from Youngstown, Ohio, and is a graduate of Youngstown State University. He obtained his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, in Rootstown, Ohio. He did his internship at Northside Medical Center followed by residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, New York. He completed his training with a Shoulder/Elbow Fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida, and an Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at the CORE Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He has played a role in an extensive list of publications and has been a part of many professional presentations and lectures.

Dr. Tanner met his wife Megan in their hometown of Youngstown. They married in the fall of 2016 and now have two children, Emerson and Chase. He and Megan love the idea of living within traveling distance of their families. In his spare time, Dr. Tanner enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, especially biking, hiking, scuba diving, and astronomy.

Dr. Will ZimmermanDr. Will Zimmerman

Dr. William Zimmerman is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in treatment of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. He grew up in Richmond, Virginia, earned his bachelor's degree at Dartmouth College, and attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, then finished his training with a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Zimmerman treats simple and complex conditions and injuries of the entire upper extremity, including muscles, tendons, bones, joints, nerves, and soft tissue. He specializes in upper extremity reconstruction and microsurgery. He uses a combination of non-operative modalities as well as advancements in surgical techniques including endoscopic carpal tunnel release, wide-awake surgery, in-office procedures, and minimally invasive techniques. He believes in a collaborative treatment plan with his patients, which includes working closely with a certified hand therapist for both non-operative and post-operative treatment in order to gain an optimal result.

Before going to medical school, Dr. Zimmerman taught high school science for four years and coached high school women's volleyball. While teaching in Boston, Massachusetts-and enjoying some of his favorite pastimes, Red Sox baseball and bar trivia-he met his wife, Maria, who has a PhD in Ethnomusicology. They have three young children, Bennett, Zoe and Miles. They are all excited to be back in Will's home state of Virginia, living near family and friends.

Jonathan Wood PA-C

Mr. Jonathan Wood P.A. earned his BS from Longwood college with concentrations in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology and later earned his Master's degree in Physicians Assistant studies from James Madison University in 2006. Mr. Wood joined CVOSM family shortly after graduating from JMU and enjoys developing relationships and treating his own patients as well as assisting our physicians both their clinics or in the hospital setting. In addition to being a Certified Physician Assistant ( PA-C ), he is also a Certified Athletic Trainer ( ATC ) and former Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists ( CSCS ) with a special interest in sports injuries. Over the years, Mr. Wood has served on multiple medical teams with VA USA Wrestling National Teams and has done a summer fellowship with the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO wherein he has worked primarily with the wrestling teams, but also covered the boxing and gymnastics. In addition to athletic injuries, he has specialist in the treatment of osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
